Do you need to license a silencer/suppressor/moderator for a FAC air rifle in the UK?
Hi,
Once you go into the FAC range normally a suppressor needs to be listed - as its technically part of the firearm.
DO ask your firearm officer - as the proofing of the moderators is a strange and uncharted area, so to be safe ask the License Dept - or your Firearm Officer.
Most moderators are not prof marked and serial numbered in any way.
Discretion from the Licensing Dept is possible - they are not going to deny a moderator for your ticket.
Always best to be legal - lock stock and barrel than always be wondering are you doing the right thing.

I will definitely apply for one on my ticket, and then can have a discussion with the Firearm Officer comes round for my interview.
