I save money on card targets by printing them myself. This target is the standard sized ISSF target for 10 metre rifle. All the sizes are known so it was a just a case of designing the target at the right size. I print with a laser printer that takes 220gsm card stock so it is a reasonable quality target. The print file is .PDF so it should be downloadable and printable by everyone who wants to try it. I have no idea what the resolution would look like on an inkjet printer (300 dpi required) but a laser printer set to fine quality should work without issue.

For folk who are not familiar with a 10 metre rifle, I shoot with a Feinwerkbau 700 Evolution Top. It is set to shoot at around 5.25 foot pounds, which is more than enough for 10 metres and is not so powerful that it introduces instability in the pellets. Pellets are debated often and I prefer to stick with what works. I use the 8.2g RWS R10 Match pellets which are all sized to 4.50mm and weigh exactly the same as each other. I buy a sleeve of ten tins so only pay around £8 per tin of 500 pellets. It is one less variable to concern me when trying to shoot a perfect score. The target I have uploaded was shot by me for a very frustrating score of 97.
The only adjustment I have made to my rifle is to add a Gehmann Champion 540 competition sight. I was having trouble with the Feinwerkbau sight and kept seeing filaments in it. Taking it apart and cleaning it did not seem to work so I decided to invest in the best sight I could afford. I also bought a variable aperture which managed to give me a much better sight picture. The Gehmann shifts the point of impact 0.2mm per click at 10 metres and 1mm per click at 50 metres. I noticed with the variable aperture that I could occasionally see filaments in this sight too. It happened as I closed the aperture down beyond 0.8mm. I realised that I was seeing the pattern of my own retinal blood vessels as I closed the aperture. I had spent the money needlessly but had got an outstanding sight out of the deal. The images show Feinwerkbau's original sight.
