My name is Giles, I make an online show called "The Airgun Gear Show' and have been doing so for 8+ years. I used to shoot airguns as a youngster, before everything became so PC and everyone got scared. Every Sunday I would go to Long Marston car boot and buy a second hand air rifle, some would work, and some would not....my first ever was a Gat air pistol. To cut a long story short, here I am....developing airgun101.com and now having a punt at a forum. Would love to talk more to shooters and be able to help, and in these challenging times we need as many outlets to chat as possible. So welcome, please enjoy. Giles

Hi all,

I'm Ken and based in the Bury, Lancashire. Recently picked up an FX Dreamline Tactical Compact from Livens (having watched videos from Giles and Matt) and it's a dream to shoot. Joined Rochdale Airgun Club so if there are any members from there - hello!! :)

I'm a lecturer and work in Manchester, specialising in 3D modelling and digital sculpting. I am a hobbyist knife maker too and make my fixed blade knives by stock removal. Look forward to chatting to ppl on here.

Cheers!!

Hei there!
I'm new here. I recently got my FX M3 in cal .25 and .35 (barrel kit ...) I'm not completely new to airgunning, cause I shot a brakre barrel since I was something like 6 ... However that whole PCP stuff is quit new and interesting for me and I hope it opens up some nice possibillities for me and - yes of course - it's much fun. That damn M3 got addictive ...
so far so good - nice to be here and get in touch with other addicted ...

Hey guys & gals, Matt here.

I recently got back into the world of shooting, via air rifles (used to shoot powder burners when I was younger).
I'm still pretty new to the sport and due to the lockdowns and being on the critically vulnerable list, haven't been able to shoot in over a year, as there's not enough room in the back yard.
My current baby is a BSA Ultra SE in .177 and I do love it. When I can, I like to go down to the local range, do a bit of fun plinking and some target work, currently shooting at the 25yrd UK standard and getting between 230-240, with several bullseyes, which for a rookie who hasn't really shot anything since his teen years ain't too bad in my humble opinion.
It's thanks to YouTubers like Giles Airgun Gear Show) and Andy (AAR On Air) that I've taken such an interest in the sport again and I love watching both of their shows.

Hello 101 community. My name is Jack, I have been shooting since before anyone thought it was a good idea to slap warning labels on everything and am starting to feel every one of hose years catching up with me!

Since covid struck I have been putting a more serious/focussed effort into my love of checkering rifles. Originally I started as a bit of therapy over a decade ago when I was diagnosed with MS as having something for my hands to build a muscle memory for was doctors orders... shame he wouldn't prescribe my pellets for me but ho hum ;)

I look forward to seeing this forum grow and hope to be an as active a member I can.

Hello I am from Georgia, and just learned that you can deer hunt with air rifles .30 caliber and up, so my Umarex Octagon in .22 does not fit the bill. So i started watching different video's with Matt D., and Ted H., and other hunting shows showing the FX Impact, thus after a lot of research on FX I came to find out about the FX Impact MKII in .35 or 9mm. needless it got my interest piqued. I am a smoke burner who loves to reload, but I am seriously thinking of selling my rifles so I could purchase and FX, though of course my birthday is on Monday. 7.27.61, maybe should wish for one instead :D , ahhhh I'll just go on wishing and saving until I can get one. As far as glass I think an element titan would do nicely.

Thanks for a cool site

Hi folks,

I am 11BVarmintSniper from the states. I have been using airguns for about 2 years but have been hunting and fishing (I can catch any fish if the body of water holds them) all my life. I really enjoy airgun hunting with PCP rifles and have a particular liking for the brand EdGun but I also own a Benjamin and Brocock rifles.

My main quarry is going to be squirrels for pest control. They have done a lot of disruption in my home, including getting into the walls, crawl space and attic. There are so many in my area that it's borderline infestation if you don't cull them at least once a month.

I am here to learn more about airguns and perhaps to help others out.

Happy Father's day,

Tommyj157 Hello....well, we have a competition winner on board :o ;) . Well Done, I am not good enough to win competitions so I tip my hat to you. I have watched shooters at the 25, and the dedication is remarkable, along with all the little tricks they all try just to gain that 1mm closer to the X. I only shoot the competitions in the USA, as part of my trips abroad, and the pressure is immense - could never do that every few weekends, I would fall to pieces. Enjoyed your Bio Intro - Welcome aboard. G

You will have to come down to rifleman firearms soon and have a shoot with me and the regulars there. I think you will really enjoy it ?

John, Pdog here, in Denver. What are your problems with your Dreamline? Have a DL Classic in .25 that is a fantastic shooter.

Hi, John Here.
I'm signed up as "Coloradan" because I live in Colorado and John is so common you can never get it as a username.
I got a Dreamline Tactical last December and it's been running me around in circles trying to get it tuned and today I found some new issues that puzzle me so I though I'd pop over here and see if someone has answers.

Greetings, Giles!

My name is Kevin, and I live in the state of Idaho in the US.

My only experience with airguns was a Daisy BB gun I received for Christmas when I was 9, nicknamed “The Ballbuster.” Neither myself or my friends were big and strong enough to cock the lever on that thing, so we would have to put the stock between our legs to get enough leverage to cock it. That worked fine unless you let go before the gun was truly cocked, in which case it came screaming back towards your groin with massive force. It’s a wonder any of us ever were able to father children. Once I was old enough, I spent every possible moment hunting with my dad for upland game birds, deer, elk, bear, etc. Life and work eventually took over, and I really haven’t hunted in 30 years or so.

I stumbled into a video on YouTube of someone ratting with a night vision scope. The accuracy of a modern air gun astounded me, and off I fell into the rabbit hole. I’ve spent the last 6 months soaking up as much information as I could, and this site has become the first thing I check daily.

I’m a single dad of a 13 year old girl, so life doesn’t give me much room for hobbies. The only chance I get is when she goes to visit her egg donor during the summer. I plan to buy my first and probably last PCP this summer, and spend some time doing overnight camping/fishing/hunting trips. This site, and the videos made by all the content providers, including yours, have gotten me hooked. Please remember I’m a noob everyone, and I will probably ask a lot of stupid questions about my new obsession.

Just geting back to airguns after a long break.

I have my first PCP on the way and can't wait to get into this new (to me) platform.

I shoot alot of powder burners and was looking for something to train the basics with in the back yard. I am 3 acres short of enough land to set up a powder burner range. So airguns seem like a great way to accomplish the shoot at home goal.

I have always loved airguns. I got my first at 10 years old. After that I purchased 1 of every different model I could find in my area as a youth. The PCP platforms are so interesting and the power and precision seen online have me really excited!!!!!

Hi all...I first posted this in the wrong place...so here goes ...again!

Hi Giles and all out there..
Greetings from Darkest Africa ;)
I'm fairly new to the PCP world but have been shooting most of my life, and was keen to try PCP's so I bought a Kral Mega
.22 at the end of last year. Loving the rifle but finding time to shoot with the global "challenge" is frustrating to say the least!
looking forward to the chats and hopefully some good info sharing!
Take care

Hi There. Jeff here. Military service in the late 60s early 70s saw me using a Browning High Power 9mm and a Bren light machine gun chambered in 7.62x51. Always liked shooting and was reasonable with a pistol at 10 & 20 feet and the LMG at 400 & 600 yards. I like to shoot compound bows as well. Not much of a hunter and much prefer target shooting. Currently own a Walther LP400 Carbon Compact 10 metre air pistol and a Feinwerkbau 700 Evo Top 10 metre air rifle. Not too much chance to practice lately but hoping that will change very soon.

I recently used the newly purchased FX Chrono on my air pistol after it arrived. The shot string varied by no more than two feet per second over the last five shots. The first shot was a little more wayward by another 4 feet per second because I measured that shot from under the air cylinder instead of on top of the barrel like the remaining five shots. It turns out that the rifle weight 8.2g RWS R10s (heavier than the more normal 7g R10 for pistol) were travelling at an astonishing 335 mph on just 4.4 foot lbs. The weight of the pellet and the relatively slow velocity probably contributes to the stable pellet flight. On an outside range I was hitting rabbit-sized targets at 40 yards. Anyways that's my intro for now... ;)

Hello everyone. I am Gene from South Carolina. Retired Army Marksman, pilot, sailor and an old guy(65). Got into air guns as a kid and then firearms. Still shoot long distance longest to date is 1250yds. We live on 7acres and I am in the process of clearing and building my 150yd range. Lots of trees and brush to remove but getting there. I have numerous powder burners and just a few airguns. Currently shooting a SynRod .25cal, a Bulldog .357cal and soon a new Impact Mk 2 in .30cal.
One of our(my wife and mine) favorite channels on Youtube is yours Giles. Your humor and lightness makes it so enjoyable. Keep up the great work and stay safe. This C-virus is nasty business for many.

Oh, for those wondering about my username, I use to race GT class cars. Airguns have taken over that part of my life, not to mention the expense.
