Regarding the new forum layout and I know you have said, “This is a beta layout, it's all very new PLEASE be understanding as this may change in the future. We are learning and are always happy to listen to suggestions for improvements” so I thought I would give you my two penneth on the subject.

I do understand that rarely things stay the same in this life and granted there is usually room for improvement, but there is also the old adage of why fix what ain't broke, which I feel would apply to the Airgun 101 forum, which is barely out of its infancy at 2 years old this coming April.

I don’t suppose it will matter much, but I preferred the original layout.

I like the snippet of the content giving the gist of the post, without having to actually go into it and then find it is of no interest to me, especially given the time it takes to load.

Not having an idea of the topic of the post, is quite off putting and certainly has and will reduce me going on this forum. Now in the grand scheme of things, I suppose this is no never mind, but if there are folks out there that feel the same, then this could well have a big impact on the success of the forum.

Thus, my suggestions for the forum are:

1) Return to the old format
2) Include first part of post to give gist of post subject matter with post headings/links
3) Include post statistics with post headings/links – date of post/replies/views/likes

As already noted, you have said suggestions will be listened to, but the big question is, will they be heard and what is the chance of any being acted upon?

I’m not being belligerent here by asking, just realistic on behalf of others really. I say this, as there is no point in taking the time or effort to put finger to keyboard, if the only likely outcome is the ‘powers that be’, read and ‘listen’ and no more.

I thank you for your time and consideration – sincerely!

Many thanks for the speedy reply Gatekeeper, 'you' obviously know how things are working behind the scenes better than any of us front of house so to speak and if something needs to change so be it.

I used to really enjoy reading and occasionally taking part in this forum, although sadly it is heavily weighted in favour of the big guns (pardon the pun) whilst me, yep, just a simple backyard plinker ... still found many a post interesting though.

I am only a member to one other airgun site which I hardly ever go on now, partly because of the format and lack of activity.

The only other forum I am a member of is a car one i.e. Jaguar forum, which is awesome with a fantastic format and layout,, being fun, educational and very, very active with me spending many hours reading and taking part in.

I will keep taking a peek back to the 101 forum, to see how things are going and thank you for taking the time to read and note my suggestions.

Silverlake. We would like to thank you for the time taken to comment on our Forum.

In response to your 'If It Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It' - Unfortunately it was a case of being a bit 'broke' so we did need to fix by updating the system to comply with changes in technology. Otherwise we would have left it as it was.

This in turn has meant a bit of a change in layout and some features not showing as present - however your comments have very much been taken on board and we are working on it. It is important for this platform to be as user-friendly as possible so please check back when we have hopefully improved things further,

I just realized that I've been testing my new Benjamin Marauder and posting commentary, pics, and having discussions about the results on Facebook. Now, that's telling...
Sorry, Giles. I'll try to catch up here when I return from vacation.

I remember an old adage that went something like, "Only 10% of people will tell you when something is wrong. The other 90% vote with their feet."
