I have fairly recently got back into airgun shooting, I have aquired an old (1982), nearly as old as me), MKII HW77K in .22.

The gun was in a bit of a sorry state when I got it, I have replaced parts and installed new internals.

After a tin of pellets to bed things in, the last time I put it over the chrono with JSB Exact Jumbo 15.89gr. 5.52mm, it was a fairly consistent 11.7fpe (in UK),

The accuracy with a scope is consistently about 1" or a bottle top at 30m which I'm fairly happy with.

The thing is, that I find that its a bit Too Noisy!! I'm not sure if I'm hearing the muzzle blast or the piston slapping??

Anyone any ideas/advice as to how I can go about reducing the noise/vibration and maybe even increase accuracy?

Thanks in advance! D.

Thanks Tommy,

I put a V-Mach kit in it during renovation for a similar cost. I was told that either was just as good.

Any idea what tuning would cost, and who/where best to try? D.

Have you had the rifle tuned? If not look into it. It can make a big difference. Also look into the Tin Bum Tuning kits for about £25 you can reduce a lot of the twang you might be hearing.
