I know slugs and choked barrels normally don't mix well, but has anyone gotten any of the brands to shoot well through a LW polygonal choked barrel? I have a Brocock Commander Magnum in .22 and would like to put slugs through it if I can.

Ok, best suggestion is try some. I have heard some P barrels love them and some don't - it depends on what is on your rifle. I do know some say YES amazing and some say it won't hit a barn door at 50 yards.
Invest in a pack of hybrids .22 that's a good starting point. Go for 900fps min + and if your on a tin can at 75 you have something to work with.
Nielsen do some lighter slugs, but are more tailored to a slug barrel, but again some report good results, so that may also be worth a try.
Cannot do any harm, try a pack see what happens.

Well, this thread is a little dated but in case anyone cares, I will share my experience with slugs.
I have a LW barrel on my EdGun Matador R5M standard in 22. So this is not a direct comparison at all..
At first I was able to take Nielsen Specialty Ammo 27Grain HP-FB .217 out to 30 yards. I didn't have time for several weeks to try further due to lockdown situation. This weekend I was able to take them to 75 yards and they shoot well from a rest. Just to the right of the pellets. So if you had an ATN 4K Prod scope you could set a zero profile for both pellets or slugs out of the same rifle. My setup is lobbing those down range at 900 FPS on average.
Now, I have thought about this setup for the once in a blue moon racoon that comes into my yard. But I am half tempted to see if my Gamo 22 pellets that are about 22.75 grain do the job as well. Because they are much cheaper to buy and I think they woud do the trick just fine.
Anyway, I am not totally sold on the slug thing over pellets. Mostly because a lot of what I can see here for shooting, I can get within 75 yards and it works well with pellets. You just have to do your part.
