So I am new to the airgun market and looking to purchase a sub-12ft lb .22 bull-pup air rifle for rats and rabbits. (I have extensive experience in shooting a range of full bore weapons and developed a preference for bull-pups). I have seen reviews the FX Wildcat Mk3 but think it is over complicated for what I need (power adjustment/cailbre etc). I have been weighing up the Weihrauch HW100 BP and the Walther Reign and rather like the idea of the air gauge being on the side. Are there any Walther Reign owners out there who can share their experience?

Dont forget the Dreamline Bullpup - you will have the benefit of being able to add a plenum and lower your reg to get more shots

I've shot both and the weihrauch is leagues ahead. The reign just isn't accurate enough and has a cheap feel to it. The hw100 bullpup on the other hand is like it has been made by watch maker. Precise and perfect ?

I shoot for a living and have owned and still own both the HW100 BP and the Walther Reign. Both very good Bullpups and which ever you decide to go with in the end, you'll have a great Rifle. That said, I would go for the Walther Reign. Reason being is that from a manoeuvrability and carry round, It's the lightest Bullpup on the market. The HW100 on the other hand (and in comparison) weighs a tonne !!!. 2.5Kg and 3.7kg respectively, that's unscoped of course. Accuracy wise there is little between them. Reliability again theres nothing in it....what you'd expect from German Engineering if I'm honest. There are some great add-ons that you can get off Ebay for the Reign too. 99% of the time if I'm working on close range (up to 40 yds) Ratting, Rabbits or Squirrels, I find myself always reaching for the Reign. Hope this helps................happy hunting

if it was a choice between these two: weihrauch every time. the reign is good, but it'll never stack up against the hw100....

Hi, i have around 30 years experience of shooting and tend to have an alternate view to the majority. I'm left handed and left eyed. I have also lived in Germany for past 10 years and have owned both guns. I still have the Reign and I also have many of the aforementioned "eBay" add-ons......cheek riser, mag holder and cocking lever handle

It is true, the Weihrauch feels a better quality gun, but not by a large margin and its a lot heavier and more expensive. Its noticeably more cumbersome to use all day when using for vermin control. Great for plinking and target work, but heavy going when on a full days vermin control shoot.

The Reign is a 'Marmite' gun, yes it has a plastic stock feel to it, but its very light and well engineered. As a 'lefty', its also easier to modify for left handed use and easier to use in the field. It has great ergonomics for a lefty when setup properly. Hence I sold the Weihrauch and kept the cheaper Walther Reign as in my view, its a reliable, accurate 'goto' option for vermin control with an option for a bit of fun with target work. The Reign is expensive for what it is compared to others, but worth it if you need a left handed well engineered and reliable Bullpup.

Every review I've seen for the Walther Reign is negative, it's just not accurate and is nowhere near as good as the Walther Rotex RM8 or the Weihrauch.
