Hi All,
I recently purchased an Impact mk2 off a gentleman who had to give up shooting due to ill health. I chrono`d it and was shocked to see the results, They were terrible, the first shot was 50fps (sub12 .22) below the " normal " and then the consistency was 20-30 fps difference, The gun was only 7 weeks old after the fella originally bought it from Bagnall and Kirkwood so I thought I would email them. The only response I got from them was just to state that the warranty was not transferable and no information was offered as to the cause. I then looked on Fx website and it said to get in touch with distributor, I then emailed Sportsman Gun Centre but have got no reply from them whatsoever. I then emailed FX and got an automated reply to say they would be in touch in 2 - 3 days, although as I am writing this 2 weeks later I don`t think one will be forthcoming. I have looked on Youtube and it seems like it could be reg creep but for an Air rifle costing (originally) just shy of £2k with the extras and only a few months old you would have expected some sort of after sales service.
I wondered if I had a popular Youtube channel if someone might have deigned to get in touch, It seems like if you don`t, you pay your money and are just left in the dark when something goes awry.

Hi, rest assured you are not alone with your problem. I also have an Impact Mk 2 which has been returned to The sportsman Gun Centre twice for the same problem and both times they have claimed it is the regulator. Read "Point of impact with my impact".

My RFD has been very helpful but admit these FX's are too complicated. I have now come to the conclusion that buying a barrel kit was a waste of money as every time you change the barrel it upsets the regulator. UK sub 12ft/lb regulators have anti tamper fitted so you cannot deal with the problem yourself.

So the .22 barrel stays in and I am in the process of having it professionally tuned.

Good luck with getting yours sorted.

Hi - you really need to learn how to tune it - K&B sell all the spares you need to make it more tunable.

you should make sure that your hammer spring adjuster and regulator pressure are in harmony.

Remember that the hammer spring adjuster dial can be fine tuned with the allen key 1.5mm from memory.

Also consider the regualtor stack pattern.

I have got all of my fx's running with a 3-5fps spread.

And also remember that you can make your valve dial adjustable too.

so there is no reason why you cant set this at 11.5 and obtain extreme efficiency

But if you really cant be bothered - then I will buy it off you...

The hammer spring adjustment screw is 1.25mm from memory :p

The sub 12 FX guns really shouldn't need touching in my opinion, not that its worth much, its like buying a Ferrari and getting your spanners out :D

Poor bloke only wanted to know about a bit of after sales advice.

I maintain that on Sub 12 you can have a bad tune and good tune, the good tune will be efficient with air, and prevent unwanted turbulence in the barrel - which will affect POI.

It took me a while to get my Areon Dreamline running sweet, and I have it running almost silent (.177) and it can hit those reset spinners at 70 yards with almost boring reliability.

I think the OP should have got a HW100 instead- nothing to adjust on those...

I don`t think FXLover is reading my original comments correctly, It is not the tuning that is of concern, also on a sub12 UK spec gun the reg and valve adjuster are not tuneable as standard, , It is the lack of after market support. I have had no problem with Daystate or Theoben, when they were still in business, if you can remember back that far, and my Rapid will unfortunately out shoot the Impact.
