Love my FX Impact Mk2 and usually fire about 500-600 shots in a session.

Once Australia’s Covid 19 firearm purchasing ban is over, I will buy a rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor to join a program called Farmer Assist. After qualifying you are paired up with farmers that have vermin problems.

So an airgun is a lot cheaper to run.

EDIT:
Also is licennce free here in Portugal, up to 24 Joule, if you are over 18.

Each has its own specific design and usage. I love both. I believe that Air guns are the future in the shooting sports arena, thanks to the innovators like FX and Daystate and others.

i think it really depends what you're planning on doing really; thats a really broad question.... small quarry close in; i'd take my sub 12 air, bit further out maybe fac air. bigger quarry - straight for the rimfire / centrefires that i use. that said for target shooting; BOTH! the big stuff is great fun and can really stretch the distances out. BUT air - its the same principles, but less room needed and cheap to run. so they both have their place - just important to know which one to pick depending on the task at hand. my 2 cents anyway.

Airguns all the way, I do pest control in areas where a 22rf would not be a safe option, considering the real possibility of ricochet,
Hares and rabbits don't have a high chance of survival against a tuned 56TH reaching out to 70 odd metres, and that's head shots,
Take pics of some bags and as soon as I work out how to get them under 2MB will post..

This is a bit simplistic :)

There should be a separate category for rimfire. And actually even then you should split the firearm category into small bore and big bore. And then the answer is:
Airguns - yes
Rimfire - yes
Smallbore - yes &
Bigbore - yes.

Oh yes, forgot about handguns, a whole 'nother kettle of fish...
